RSVP Today; Tour the World Trade Center Construction Site
NJ SEED is proud to announce a once in a lifetime experience provided by NJ SEED Trustee Tina Lado of the Port Authority of NY and NJ (PANYNJ). The June 6 meeting will begin with a 15 minute continental breakfast at 9:30 AM at 2 Montgomery St., Jersey City NJ 07302. We will have a quick membership meeting and presentation by Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni on the incredible amount of development in the Port region.
Members will then be provided a VIP tour of the World Trade Center Construction site. This is an active construction site; pants/slacks and flat shoes only. We’d been advised that participants should NOT wear dresses, skirts, heels or open toe shoes. We will board a Path train that will bring us directly to the site. The tour and meeting will conclude in NYC at around noon. There is a great deal of advancement in public transportation in the port region. As an organization promotes economic development through sound environmental principles, members may want to consider riding the train to Exchange Place in Jersey City. It is a quick walk from Exchange Place to 2 Montgomery St., and this intermodal experience will provide additional perspective for our meeting.
For security purposes, pre-registration is required by RSVP’ing to info@njseed.org by May 31, 2012. Non-members are always welcome to NJ SEED events but are asked to make a $95 contribution in order to cover expenses.
Final Reminder — NJIHoF Nominations are due on June 1st!
The New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame (NJIHoF), now in its third decade, celebrates the role inventors and innovators play in improving society in diverse and lasting ways. Those who completed the majority of their inventive/innovative work while in New Jersey are eligible to be nominated for award consideration.
The requirements for a variety of annual awards and the nomination form can be found at www.njinvent.org. Completed nominations are due by June 1, 2012. Click here to access a nomination form.
It is important that stellar inventors and innovators be offered an opportunity to receive widespread recognition. Naturally, the entity they represent– a company, collegiate institution, or invention/innovation advancement organization — also benefits from that publicity.
The Governor of New Jersey will help us celebrate the award winners at NJIHoF’s Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, October 18, 2012 . As in past years, the banquet will be held at the W-Hotel in Hoboken. Final banquet details will be announced at a later date.
