Joint Press Release Re: Governor Murphy Signing S-2081

Today (5/15), Governor Murphy significantly increased public safety within the State of New Jersey, by signing into law Bill S2081, which will expand the scope and capabilities of state police detectives to assist in missing persons investigations.

“It was an honor to work with so many legislators and other stakeholders, on this important enhancement of public safety in our state,” said Wayne Blanchard, President of the STFA. “This Bill provides our state police detectives and their law enforcement colleagues with the tools to succeed and preserve lives in the crucial minutes and hours at the advent of a missing persons investigation,” Blanchard said.
